Hi there, my name is Elly. I am Greek and I love cooking. I was born in Istanbul, Turkey, raised in Athens, Greece and currently live in Nicosia, Cyprus with my husband and our two children. At the moment I am a stay at home mother but I prefer to call myself a versatile housewife. For 10 years I worked in investment banking, financial auditing and shipping and even though it was a long time ago, I often miss those days.
At the end of 2012, I decided to create Dailycious because I had the urge to share the food I was preparing every day in my kitchen for my family with other people. It was supposed to be a kitchen diary at first, but turned out to be much more than that. At the beginning, it was only recipes in Greek, but I am currently writing them in English as well, so please be patient, it takes time! Apart from cooking I love watching films, reading books and enjoy wine tasting in good company.
All Greek recipes found here are authentic and are being prepared and cooked in an easy and straightforward way using fresh Mediterranean ingredients, preferably in season. Most of them are based on family recipes from my grandmother and mother, tested over and over again through the years. All recipes include step by step instructions and how to do photos taken by me with a Dailycious signature unless captioned otherwise.
